Update: Yeah...I missed it again. Had to choose between having the 510 ready for autocross or having two days of fun. The good news is I still used the vacation days to put the motor together; the bad news is no rally action. I will make plans for next year. Hopefully it will pan out.

Below is the write-up I did from the 2004 Oregon Trail Rally. Sadly, last year I was too busy to go over to Oregon. THIS YEAR, I AM GOING! I already have the vacation day approved. I hope the weather is as nice as it was in 2004. (Not a single day of rain.) And have I mentioned Oregon roads are awesome, both pavement and dirt? I think I burned 10,000 miles of rubber zipping back and forth in 2004.
It will be interesting to see if I can drive the race car over this time. Might just take the truck to be on the safe side. Expect a full write-up after I get back, probably in early May. Until then, drool over footage from two years ago.

The Oregon Trail Rally was this past weekend (4-23/24/25). It was excellent! Unfortunately, while leaving at 4 am from Bellevue, I forgot the instructions on where to meet and got it in my head that it was in another location. Not the case, but I ended up running into a checkpoint (27, I think) along the rally and worked that on Saturday since another person hadn't shown.
After the stages on Saturday, the canyon was substantially cold. A very gracious fellow named Robert let me crash at his place in Cannon Beach. Robert, thanks again. I probably would have frozen all night had I camped in the truck like I planned. I thought it was going to be much warmer and didn't bring a sleeping bag. Silly me.
So on Sunday, I met with the EMT rendezvous, again in the wrong place. I ended up going back to Clatskanie since I needed gas. About the time I got back I found Sager Creek road and the head communications vehicle. So I ended up getting to the correct location and working stage 13 and 16.
Next time I'm bringing a sleeping bag and a topo map of Oregon. Usually I'm much more prepared. Oh well. Everything turned out okay and the event was just great. Lots of fast entrants, reminding me of my goal to have a car ready in one year so I can race as well as volunteering.

As you might guess, there were a lot of photos and videos. I think I took about 500 video files/still pictures. It's taken me a while to weed out the crap. I've got the decent items left. Haven't gone through the videos, probably won't. I won't have room on the server to put more than a couple up. I don't know if any free sites have a decent amount of storage space. I might throw a few videos there.
**IF YOU RACED and want pictures/videos of your car, let me know. If you didn't race and want pictures, let me know. I will be posting smaller, low-resolution pictures on the site. They'll be decent for viewing, but not for wall framing, for obvious reasons. To make it simpler, I'll try to do a thumbnail of every car, regardless of the stage. Going to need to check the SCCA entrant list, as I don't have it. But I will get it. I'm pretty sure I have a picture of everyone in the race at some stage or another.

For a complete list of pictures/videos per car, click here.
Original Images are 1600 x 1200 resolution. Videos are 320 x 240 resolution. Sample pictures on this page are 500 x 375. Scroll over picture to identify the file name which will be the same as the car no.
For an example of near-full resolution, check out the Nissan (Car 222) pictures in 1024 x 768 at 75% of original: Sentra 1. Sentra 2. And the Datsun 510 (HL) (Car 258)
I have quite a few videos, three of which I'm putting up on the site. Two are of the race winner. One is of the only Sentra entered.
